sometimes new york really is the bestest, most amazing city ever.

we finally hunted down the fabled vietnamese sandwich at saigon banh mi, and ate them in this lovely little park next to the east broadway subway.

after schlepping around lower manhattan all afternoon in search of curtains and curtain material, we finally headed back for burgers at the heights cafe. you know, tim might be right; with those excellent fresh-cut, skin-on fries, they might just be an order of magnitude better than corner bistro's.

on the way to grimaldi's pizzeria in DUMBO for their deservedly famous pies. i was sooo fucking hungry. and we had to wait on line for 30 minutes (at 2pm on thursday afternoon!).

the view from the water st. dock after a visit to jacques torres' chocolate factory. spicy hot chocolate is most excellent.

"the masts of mannahatta".
